The General Director of State Police, Haki �ako, reacted on Monday over the Minister of Interior Fatmir Xhafaj decision to discharge him from this duty. �ako answered shortly to the journalists� interest for any comment by his side stating only that he had been informed about this decision by the Minister Xhafaj.

�I was informed by the Minister Xhafaj about this decision,� said �ako, without giving further details about his meeting with the Minister of Interior, Xhafaj.

His discharge was announced earlier the Minister of Interior Xhafaj who argued that the fulfillment of the objectives during the new governing mandate in the field of public order and security along with the challenges that lay ahead of the State Police require a faster reaction and more dynamic work. In spite of this he praised the role played by �ako and the contribution given to the State Police in quality of highest rank official.

Haki �ako was appointed as the General Director of State police on April 16, 2015 replacing Artan Didi in this important position. He will now be replaced during a yet undefined period of time by Rebani Jaupaj, the currently Deputy-General Director of State Police.
