Xhafaj-Marku Closed Doors Meeting on Prosecution and Police Collaboration

The provisional chief prosecutor Arta Marku had a meeting on Friday with Minister of Interior Xhafaj. Albanian news.com learned that the vetting in judicial system and State Police was among the highlights of this meeting, which took place in the General Prosecution premises.

�The vetting process in the justice system as well among the State Police ranks was among the highlights of this meeting. Pairs shared the same opinion that these processes require a continuous and intensive communication, eyeing a rapid and complete fulfillment of security institutions and the justice system cleansing by officials that fail to meet the moral and professional criteria,� the General Prosecution reported.

The provisional chief prosecutor Marku also emphasized the specific importance of co-operation between the Prosecutor's Office and the Ministry of Interior in strengthening security in the country as well as in meeting the country's priorities for integration into the European Union.
She emphasized her unwavering commitment toward inter-institutional coordination in order to successfully conduct important investigations, as well as any criminal proceeding with high social impact.

Meantime the Minister of Interior Xhafaj guaranteed that this institution, as well as the State Police, will continue to strengthen the institutional cooperation aiming an increase of proactive investigations, while adding that fight against corruption will be among the priorities.
