The Archbishop of the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Albania, Anastasios Yannoullatos extended a message of gratitude to the President of the Republic, Ilir Meta that gave him the Albanian citizenship.

�The decision is like the wine, gains value by getting older,� declared the Archbishop Yannoullatos, referring to the President Meta decision to give him the Albanian citizenship.

Archbishop Yannoullatos leads the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Albania since 25 years, a period of time that has enabled him to fluently speak the Albanian language.

Earlier he declared during an interview to the Greek media that his successor in this important position will be an Albanian.
