Christmas Eve, President Calls for Help on People in Need

The leaders of Albania extended warm wishes on Monday to the Catholic believers in Albanian on occasion of Christmas Day. The President of the Republic, Ilir Meta, wished to everyone a Merry Christmas while urging for more help for the families in need.

"Merry Christmas! This beautiful feast of Christianity, embodies divine and human values, I wish to bring more hope, happiness and serenity, love and faith, harmony and understanding, and further strengthen the peace in the family and society, between people and peoples, bring social prosperity and progress to humanity. Trying on this holy day to not forget the lonely, the needy and the sick to give them hope and confidence. Merry Christmas", writes Meta.

Christmas Wishes came also from the Prime Minister Edi Rama and the leader of the opposition, Lulzim Basha.

"I heartily congratulate all Christian believers and all the servants of God in the churches, cathedrals, and monasteries of the Albanian dioceses, in the homeland and Diaspora. Merry and Blessed Christmas! God bless Albania and Albanians wherever they are," wrote Basha.
