The past 105 years of independence should serve as a lesson for the future. Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj made this appeal during an activity titled Lets ride under one flag organized in the framework of Independence Day celebration. He also underlined that unity among people is the most important element, adding that if Albanians cooperate than nothing may stop them.

The question we should all address to ourselves is Have we learned something during those 105 years of independence? If we all manage to focus on the work and cooperation instead of creating artificial barriers than we may cope with every difficulty and overcome every barrier, said the mayor.

Referring to the Scanderbeg square project Veliaj said that it was initially designed on 1913, one year after the Independence declaration.

The fact that its completion took over 104 years clearly indicates that when we create artificial obstacles to each other and abuse with one anothers energy than nothing is achieved. On the other side when we decide to cooperate the square is completed within only 10 months and the countrys economy moves forward, declared Veliaj.
