The Albanian Ballet School 60th anniversary was celebrated last weekend with a gala evening that brought together different generations of this institution. This event included some beautiful performances from the students who performed some modern and classic dances. Medals of gratitude were also awarded to former-professors and dancers of this school.

The Ballet School now welcomed the students with reconstructed facilities and modern conditions thanks to an intervention conducted by the Municipality of Tirana. Some 230 students are expected to enter its doors this season.

The choreographic school of Tirana was opened in 1957 and since that year to date has performed on ballet masterpieces and has been awarded many national and international prizes.
Many of the dancers who have studied in this school are well-known names abroad such as Ilir Kerni, Kledi Kadiu, Ambeta Toromani, Ilir Shaqiri, Leon Cino, Klajdi Selimi, etc.
