Cooperation of Greek and Albanian Police Departments

General Director of State Police Haki �ako awarded �Distinguished Service Certificate� to the Inter-Connection Officer of Greek Police in Albania, Konstantinos Markos, at the end of his mission in Albania, with the motivation: �For the contribution given in the strengthening of cooperation between the Albanian and Greek Police Departments in the joint fight against crime, in the interest of strengthening law and order.�
A notification in the official page of State Police made public that in his remarks, General Director �ako said that Mr. Markos was the key factor for the successful development of all joint operations and investigations in the fight against drug-trafficking, human trafficking, and identification or localization for the capture of people declared as wanted in both jurisdictions of the two countries.
�In his cooperation with the Albanian police during these years, he has given a precious contribution for the strengthening of relations, for the cooperation between law-enforcement agencies, and especially between the organizations of Albanian and Greek police,� �ako said.
Meantime, the Greek Ambassador to Albania, Eleni Sourani underlined that thanks to its work, the Albanian State Police has improved security and protection for Albanian and Greek citizens and the cooperation between the two Police Departments of the two states is the most important part that has brought as a result successful joint operations.
�Thank you very much for organizing this ceremony to congratulate one of the most important and effective police officers of the Embassy. There is no doubt that Mr. Markos is an excellent officer. We all will miss him very much. Cooperation between Greek police and Albanian police is the most vital part of our cooperation. We are two states that share joint borders and people who move from one country to the other. Thanks to your work, your protection and cooperation, the security and protection of Albanian and Greek citizens has improved,� Greek Ambassador Sourani said.
