Kukesi Municipality in cooperation with the Institute of Archeology launched a project for the revitalization of the Castle and the Ancient Town of Peca, with the aim of restoring cultural and historical values of the area.

The project will include the reconstruction of the surrounding walls, the church, the watchtower and the road leading to this cultural and historical heritage.

"It is a fortress with a very old history and a very rich cultural heritage," said Kukesi Mayor, Bashkim Shehu.

Meanwhile, the director of the Institute of Archeology, Luan Perzhita, at the same time the project's director, declared that is very important for this area to be known for its cultural heritage values.
