Drinking Water Prices Will Not Increase Soon

Drinking water prices will not be increased in the capital. At least for the other three months.

The Water Regulatory Authority will start to discuss the new proposals of the Tirana Municipality on September and all the procedure needs at least three months to be analyzed.

One of the members of the National Commission of the Water Regulatory Authority, Riza Ajdini, declared on Tuesday that this institution will strongly analyze the situation then decide.

"We will review all proposals on September. All the process might require 2-3 months." said Ajdini.

On July 26 the City Council of Tirana voted to increase the prices of the drinking water. According to the decision, prices will be increase to ALL 65/m3 from ALL 45/m3 for the families and to ALL 190/m3 from ALL 135/m3 for the businesses.
