The Democrat leader Lulzim Basha had a working dinner with US congressmen Devid Nunes, chairman of the Intelligence Commission at the US Congress, and Rick Crawford, member of this commission. This meeting was attended by the technical Minister of Interior, Dritan Demiraj.

The current situation in Albania and the strategic cooperation with the US to face the threats of organized crime, drug trafficking and corruption were the highlights of this meeting. The DP chair introduced the congressmen with facts and figures on the role of criminal organizations in cooperation with the government for the June 25th vote manipulation.

�The interlocutors shared the concern for many of the problems identified in the elections and expressed their support for a deep electoral reform and implementation of the justice reform. They also expressed concern about the galloping growth of drug trafficking and drug trafficking in Albania,� DP reported through a press statement released on Wednesday.

Basha assured the congressmen for the DP�s unwavering attitude in the fight against corruption, organized crime and drugs, serving democracy, rule of law and the European future of Albania.
