Tirana citizens will pay a higher price for the drinking water from now on. The Municipal Council approved on Wednesday evening with 31 votes pro the price increase from ALL 45/m3 to ALL 65/m3. The Socialist Party (SP) and Party for Justice, Integrity and Unity (PJIU) representatives voted pro while the Democrat representatives abandoned the meeting.

During a brief speech in front of the Municipal Council mayor Erion Veliaj declared that this business plan will guarantee a series of investments that will enable uninterrupted water supply to the citizens.

Citizens uninterrupted supply with drinking water is more important than the political parties, declared Veliaj, referring to the debates that preceded the price increase approval.
