Lulzim Basha�s rival in the race for the post of Democratic Party (DP) chair, Eduard Selami accepted the defeat with a large difference of votes. During a brief press conference on Sunday in the DP headquarters Selami stressed that despite this result he would contribute for a united opposition.

�This is democracy. A voting process took place and I respect the final result. I have already congratulated my rival Lulzim Basha for the victory. Let�s join forces in order to give to the country a stronger opposition,� said Selami.

In response to the journalists� questions about his earlier declaration that this was an unfair electoral process Selami declared that despite everything this was an important step for DP.
