The Road Police appealed on Saturday to the citizens traveling toward the beaches to avoid the Tirana - Durres highway.

�All those citizens whose destination in the Lalzi Bay beach area should use the Tirana - Ndroq � Plepa axis in order to avoid traffic congestion. The Tirana - Elbasan Tunel � Rrogozhina axis is another alternative that may be chosen by those citizens traveling toward South Albania,�

The police appeal was based on the traffic situation monitoring during the last two weeks. The large flux of vehicles heading toward the beach areas during the weekend caused traffic congestion. Despite the massive presence of police patrols and their effort to solve the situation the long line of vehicles waiting under the burning sun went up to 7 km.
