Some 360.000 m/2 of land were seized on Tuesday by order of the Kavaja Prosecution in Spille�s coastal area on suspicion of being illicitly distributed. A several months inquiry conducted by the prosecution indicated that the above mentioned land surface, divided in four parcels, has been illicitly distributed to a number of local inhabitants.

According to the prosecutors there has been a breach of the law for land�s ownership, on view of the fact that only the agricultural land should had been distributed. Instead, the seized land surface is entirely composed by sand thus is excluded from this process.

The land seizure ordinance issued by Kavaja prosecution aimed to prevent land�s alienation, the real ownership concealment or its registration in the mortgage office through forged documents.

The inquiry for a full clarification of the circumstanced that led to this breach of law is still ongoing.
