�Democrat leader Lulzim Basha decision to freeze his organizing functions clearing the path to a new chair election was more than fair�. This declaration was made on Saturday by the Democrat MP, Tritan Shehu.

�Basha had the right to decide about his future action, following the DP electoral defeat on June 25. He could resign without running again for party�s chair position or he might block the main function as the actual leader avoiding any influence on the voting process. He chose this form of resignation that enables him to run again for this position. There�s nothing wrong in this way of doing. Let�s not forget that the new chair will be elected through the votes of every DP member not by the delegates of a congress. In my opinion chances of manipulation are inexistent in such case,� declared Shehu.

Referring to the possibility of coalition with Socialist Party (SP) he firmly rejected this idea.

�I am totally contrary to this idea. We cannot turn into an annex for Socialist Party (SP). On contrary, we should prepare for a strong and democratic opposition with a clear program,� stressed the Democrat MP.
