The President of the Republic, Bujar Nishani attended the 22nd International Meeting of Berlin organized by the German Bundestag and the German Association for Cooperation and Understanding between the people.

During his speech the Head of State hailed the role of this activity, which has now become a very good tradition for fostering dialogue and understanding among people irrespective of ethnicity, religious belief or social and political orientation.

The human relations, despite the unimaginable achievements in the intensification of communication and cooperation, as well as in the field of human rights, are being violated by terrorism, violent extremism, populism and the empowerment of anarchist currents, said the Albanian President.

He also dwelled on the fact that currently the societies are entirely focused on finding ways of co-operation and coordination for a safer world, both for the current and the next generations.

While commending the presence of representatives of various religious faiths at this meeting the President Nishani evidenced the key role played by these communities leaders in Albania in addressing the terrorism and extreme violence phenomenon.

The leaders of the religious communities in Albania have contributed directly and coordinated in this regard and have provided a very valuable assistance to the entire Albanian society, stated Nishani.
