Speaker of Parliament, Ilir Meta met on Tuesday the Vienna Mayor, Michael Haupl during his official visit to Tirana.

Meta praised the historic role played by Mayr Haupl since taking office in 1994 while stressing the necessity to enhance the cooperation between Vienna and Tirana.

"The Albanian capital can benefit greatly from the excellent experience of the Vienna City Hall," said Speaker Meta.

Mayor Haupl expressed his pleasure for this visit in Tirana and confirmed the willingness to enhance the cooperation with the Tirana Municipality in support of the urban development of the capital.

"Austria has a very broad experience in terms of urban development and empowerment of local government," declared Mayor Haupl.
