A total of 827 Cannabis Sativa saplings were seized and then destroyed on Wednesday by the Shkodra police in Lekaj village, part of the Shale commune. Ten parcels of land filled with cannabis saplings were discovered during a routine inspection in this area by the police forces.

Nikoll Plepi, 62, the village’s reeve, was immediately arrested by the police on grounds of failure to report a crime, while Altin Celi, 25, was arrested on grounds of narcotics cultivation. Meantime another person, whose only initials A.C were made public, was declared wanted on the same grounds.
