Speaker of Parliament, Ilir Meta participated in a commemorative ceremony organized by Skrapar City Hall in honor of the known personality, Kahreman Ylli 100th birth anniversary.

In his speech Speaker Meta praised Kahreman Ylli�s contribution as former-Minister of Education and former-Rector of Tirana University in the fight against analphabetism in Albania. He also focused on the fact that Ylli chose to return in his homeland after completing the studies in France.

�Today when many young boys and girls that complete their studies abroad chose to stay there instead of coming back we commemorate distinct personality like Kahreman Ylli, a man that induced by the love the country and patriotism left Lyon chose to exercise the much needed teacher�s profession in Albania. He embraced the most avant-garde ideas of that period, the anti-fascist ideas, fighting for country�s freedom,� said Speaker Meta.

He also emphasized the fact that Kahreman Ylli is a national figure that should serve as example to the youths� education on current days.

�Kahreman Ylli is without any shadow of doubt a national figure that goes beyond our district�s boundaries. His image urges all of us in these difficult times to be more careful toward children�s education, helping them to gain a higher level of knowledge that will serve to them while facing the future�s challenges,� said the Parliament Speaker.
