The Albanian athlete Izmir Smajlaj reacted over the rumors that his departure from Albania to represent Croatia was imminent. Through a harsh reaction in the social networks the Europe’s champion in the long-jumping disproved everything while expressing disgust for those that made similar allusions.

“I was disgusted by recently divulged news. The allusions made by some pseudo-analysts made me feel very angry. Thus, I find myself obligated to disprove these rumors by underlining that, I am deeply grateful to the Albanian state for the assistance given to me. No official declaration in relation to my imminent departure from Albania has been made by my person. Everyone that dares to speak in my name should be hold responsible and legally prosecuted. I am proud of being Albanian and that I have the chance to raise the Albanian flag all over the world,” wrote Smajlaj.
