The Socialist Movement for Integration (SMI) chair, Ilir Meta met on Sunday with a group of women and girls of the Administrative Unit 2 in Tirana. During a brief speech he laid the stress on the fact that a healthy family is the origin of a healthy society, thus the women play an extraordinary role due to their responsibility in the family, in community and society.

“Women's political empowerment should lead to a social-economic empowerment, the foundation of a safe human dignity of every woman and mother. SMI cares about the country and about the people. We are a political force that keeps the promises. This party promotes the idea of equal chances for everyone, thus maximal efforts will be done in the future for a major female presence in every level of representation,” said the SMI chair, while underlining that better social-economic opportunities raise the chances for woman’s independence and dignity empowerment in the family and society.

“Of course, this requires a greater support to invest in professional training and at the same time adapt their skills and capabilities to new workplaces that should be well-paid. Obviously this process requires a more concrete and active policy,” stated Meta.
