LIBRA’s chair, Ben Blushi called on the political parties, including Democratic Party (DP) and Socialist Movement for Integration (SMI) to avoid boycotting June 18 parliamentary elections.

Speaking during Thursday’s parliamentary session he urged them to prevent Prime Minister, Edi Rama’ Socialist Party (SP) from racing alone in the electoral process.

“If DP boycotts the June 18 elections Rama ends with at least and would than no need no one’s assistance to rule the country beyond any control. If even SMI does not race in this electoral process the Rama ends with 100 mandates, and no one in this Republic would then be able to condition him. He might even amend the country’s constitution, turning into a Republic similar to that of Erdogan,” said Blushi.

He emphasized LIBRA’s willingness to participate in June 18 parliamentary elections.

“We are in opposition with every political party but not with the Constitution. Elections are the only instrument that may bring a change to Albania. We are not afraid of this process on view of the fact that we have never been a ruling party, have not representatives in counting commissions and have no concessions,” said LIBRA’s chair.
