The World Bank (WB) assesses that Albania’s 3.5% economic growth during 2016 was the highest in the Balkans. The data were made public on Thursday through the annual report for the Western Balkans annual economic growth. 

The WB Director for South-East Europe and Central Asia, Ellen Goldstein, stated during the report presentation that an economic growth of 3.2% is expected during 2017. 

“Albania’s 3.5% economic growth during 2016 was the highest in the entire region. The employment rates were positively influenced by this fact. Albania ranks at the 2nd place for the employment rates augmentation, despite the fact that unemployment remains in high levels,” said Goldstein.
