Albania was defeated by Italy with a clean 2-0 score in Palermo, giving almost the final farewell to the objective to rank at 2nd place in the group. Italy scored a goal in each half of the match, initially through a penalty realized by De Rossi at 12th minute, and then sealed the victory through Immobile’s goal at 71th minute.

Albania performance was positive, considering the level of the adversary, but neither Cikalleshi nor Roshi did not managed to act with accuracy losing two golden chances to score during the first half of the match.

But, differently from what was expected, the challenge was not so calm in the stadium’s stairs because the Albanian fans threw smoking grenades in the field leading to match’s interruption for around 10 minutes. Coach De Biasi and team-leader, Agolli found themselves forced to appeal to the fans to remain calm avoiding similar gestures. The match restarted but in the worst way for Albania who suffered the 2nd goal.

Meantime Spain prevailed 4-1 on Israel, while Macedonia defeated Lichtenstein with a 3-1 score. Italy and Spain now lead the group with 13 points, Israel has 9 points while Albania remains with 6 points, Macedonia with 3 points and Lichtenstein with 0 points.
