Parliament Seassion in Half-Empty Hall

Speaker of Parliament, Ilir Meta faced an half-empty hall while opening Thursday’s session. Opposition’s absence was related to the boycott decision announced a few days ago. Meantime even the executive’s members were absent, while the hall was filled by only a few majority MPs.

One week ago the opposition labeled the absence of Prime Minister, Edi Rama and the Socialist Movement for Integration (SMI) ministers as a clear indicator of the executive’s fall.

On the other side two left-wing coalition allies continue to reject the idea of a caretaker government despite the opposition’s protest that goes on since 6 days in front of Premier’s office.
