Kadare Ranks Among 10 Writers’ Worth to Be Read

The British magazine “Calvaret Journal” included the internationally known Albanian writer, Ismail Kadare in the list of 10 writers worth to be read in England. His name becomes part of a list of important writers from the Balkans. One of the Kadare’s book recommended to the British readers is “Three lamentation songs for Kosovo”, starting from elegies for Kosovo up to the Balkans pagan myths.

This book is composed by three stories, “The Ancient War”, “The Great Lady” and “Royal Prayers” that focus on Kosovo battle in 1389.

The Albanian writer, often candidate for the Nobel Prize, is part of a list that includes names like Dubravka Ugresic from Croatia, Ioana Parvulescu from Romania, Miroslav Penkov from Bulgaria and Herta Muller from Romania.
