National Security Council, What Was Discussed Behind Closed Doors

The National Security Council, gathered on Friday to discusses about the issue of the 'Drug Baron' Klement Balili ends up with the evaluation that this is a complex issue with high risk and a negative impact for the country's image.

"This meeting was necessary and important because it was focused not only on the gravity of the phenomenon of drug trafficking, but also on the need for a better and effective coordination and the necessity to increase responsibility of all law enforcement institutions in relation to their institutional responsibilities," said President of the Republic, Bujar Nishani.

Meanwhile, Parliament Speaker, Ilir Meta, the one who requires the meeting, said that the issue of 'Balili' is a big concern for Albania and attracted the attention of international partners as U.S "raising questions about the seriousness of institutions in the fight against organized crime and drug trafficking phenomenon, damaging also the image of our country".
