The discharge of the Minister of Justice, Ylli Manjani did not calm the tense situation within the ruling coalition.

The new head of SMI Parliamentary Group at the same time vice leader of this party, Luan Rama declared after the discharge of Manjani that the Albanian Security Services informed state police about the location of Klement Balili, known as the ‘Drug Baron’, but police did not react.

“I have information that Security Services in Albania informed police about this issue, but police did nothing. This was confirmed even by an ambassador in Albania who asked to police and prosecution to arrest him,” informed Rama.

That is the reason according to him, why the leader of the SMI, Ilir Meta submitted a request to the President of the Republic,  Bujar Nishani to summon a meeting of the National Security Council, in order to see if everything functioned properly.
