The honored guests were briefed by Mrs. Skendaj on the history and the activity of the newspaper and its website, whereas Mr. Mohammadnia made a brief presentation of his rich and important diplomatic experience, just to mention his function as first secretary under the tenure of former Iranian ambassador to UN, the actual Foreign Minister and a renowned Iranian diplomat and politician as Mr.Javad Zarif. After that Mr. Mohammadnia served in several important positions in the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The event went on with a friendly discussion about different topics, the main of them being Albanian Foreign Minister’s historic visit to Tehran lately. Minister Bushati’s visit, said Mr. Mohammadnia, is a good sign and a message that our countries should do their best to encourage more economic and cultural exchanges, so as to cover the lost ground during these years.

“Both nations should be encouraged to become familiar with each other’s culture and heritage, even more so because we ‘surprisingly’ have so much in common”, said Mr. Mohammadnia.

Of course the Iranian top diplomat in Tirana named the Albanian eminent poet NaimFrasheri, who has written poems in Persian, as an example that needs to be known to Iranians.

Mentioning the 24-year presence of Iranian diplomatic missions in Albania, Mr. Ambassador expressed his hope that Tirana will open its embassy in Iran to further facilitate mutual cooperation.
