‘Three Penny Opera” will raise the curtains of the new artistic season in the National Theater on January 19. This theatrical piece, written by the Czech drama-writer, Vaclav Havel, brings on stage a splendid cast of known actors like Arben Derhemi, Alfred Trebicka, Vasjan Lami, Adelina Muça, Olta Gixhari, Laura Nezha, Niada Saliasi, Lulzim Zeqja, Eva Alikaj, Erjona Kakeli, Anila Bisha, Rajmonda Bulku, Arjola Basho, Julinda Emiri, Gert Ferra, Genti Deçka, Gent Hazizi, Igli Zarka, Xhuliano Brisku, directed by Mehmet Xhelili.

‘Three Penny Opera”, also known as “The Beggar’s Opera”, is one of the most special comedies written by Havel. This piece was written in 1972 but was played for the first time on November 1, 1976. Havel based the story on some elements of “The beggar’s opera”, written by the English drama-writer John Geit on 17th century. He removed the musical elements along with some characters focusing only on the seemingly decent but essentially bloody behavior of the power.
