Hospitals in Tirana have seen a flurry of admissions as people suffer fractures, gashes and broken bones during the snowfalls.

Accident and emergency departments in the capital admitted on Thursday that they had seen a marked increase in people with broken bones or injuries from sledging accidents.

Some 76 persons were registered in just one day on Trauma Hospital in Tirana, all with fractures from icy roads.

None of them risk the life, but doctor Agron Dogjani urges for more caution on these cold days adding half the people have broken legs or pelvises.
