The Albanian National Team coach, Gianni De Biassi commented on Wednesday the FIFA decision for World Cup expansion to 48 teams. The 60-years old coach declared during an interview given to “Sky Sport Italia” that he was in favor of this decision, due to the fact that from now on smaller teams like Albania will have higher chances of qualification.

“I support this decision because I support small teams. The fact that our chances for qualification in the World Cup make me smile. I think that World Cup’s format change is a positive decision. This is a form that clears the path to competition’s border expansion. Euro 2016 taught us that even small countries national teams, like Albania, Wells or Island may compete in high levels,” said De Biasi.

During this interview he also praised the work done by the Italian National Team coach, Ventura and the new elements that are being included in its ranks ahead of the match against Albania next March.
