Albanian Parties United in Skopje - Joint Declaration

Albanian parties in Macedonia, BDI, Besa and PDSH expressed through a joint declaration their commitment on the implementation of their national rights in the Government based on the Ohrid Agreement and Macedonia Constitution.

In their declaration, they required immediate implementation of the multi-ethnicity in the Constitution of Macedonia, where the Albanian are known as statehood population.

"Ethnic Equality. Full equality of language, the use of the Albanian language in all levels of the Government and ensuring its use as a fundamental right and constitutional.

The Constitution of the Republic of Macedonia, should determine the Macedonian language with the Cyrillic alphabet and Albanian language with its alphabet as official languages in the Republic of Macedonia," underlined the declaration.

From the other side, Albanian parties requires comprehensive debate on the flag, anthem and national emblem of the Macedonian national symbols in order to reflect the multi-ethnicity of social and ethnic equality; full support for the work of the Special Prosecutor, as well as "the full investigation and judicial processes as "Sopot","Brodeci","Monster" and "Kumanovo" by a commission of inquiry, or an international independent body.

They also urges for a resolution to condemn the genocide against Albanians in Macedonia from 1912 to 1956 and economic equality and social prosperity through balanced development of regions.
