Meta: Itís Time Albania Took Next Step to Receive Status

Meta said that it was time that Albania took the next step forward in receiving the candidate country status, something which according to him should have taken place two or three years ago

TIRANA - Socialist Movement for Integration (SMI) leader Ilir Meta has blamed lack of political dialogue considering it as the main obstacle which prevented Albania from receiving the candidate country status. Being on a visit to the southern city of Gjirokastra, Meta said that it was time that Albania took the next step forward in receiving the candidate country status, something which according to him should have taken place two or three years ago.
Commenting on the latest political developments, Meta pointed that the consensus achieved recently on the establishment of Administrative Courts was delayed but still it was positive.
Meantime, Deputy Speaker of Parliament Vangjel Tavo declared that SMI was determined in providing its contribution to the country's EU integration efforts. Back on Tuesday, SMI General Secretary Luan Rama blasted the country's two largest parties concerning the electoral reform.
