Press Briefing: Greek Concern Over Chams in Government
TIRANA – The presence of the party which represents Cham community, Party for Justice, Unity, and Integration (PJIU) may dent the possibilities that Greece and Albania strengthen their bilateral ties. Greek Foreign Ministry spokes person Gregory Delavekouras said in a statement on Thursday, as quoted by Balkanweb news portal, that Greece had been informed on the presence of two PJIU officials in the Albanian government. He said that Greece was closely following the event and was aware of the political balance in Albania.
Delavekouras stated that the composition of the Albanian government was an internal affair. He said that Albania should strengthen ties with Greece and mark progress concerning the EU integration. He said that PJIU held positions which could harm the further improvements of bilateral ties.
