Pristina-Belgrade Accord Crucial to Regional Stability

Berisha and Tahiri valued that fact that the agreement between Kosovo and Serbia was not only important for the normalization of the bilateral ties but also crucial for peace and stability in the region

TIRANA – Tirana and Pristina believe that the recent accord between Kosovo and Serbia is crucial for the regional peace and stability. Prime Minister Sali Berisha received in a meeting on Thursday Kosovo’s Deputy Prime Minister Edita Tahiri, who is also the head of the Kosovo delegation in the talks with Serbia in Brussels.
According to a statement by Prime Minister’s Office, Berisha and Tahiri valued that fact that the agreement between Kosovo and Serbia was not only important for the normalization of the bilateral ties but also crucial for peace and stability in the region.
“The agreement between Kosovo and Serbia is an important step which paves the way for the new state of Kosovo to mark progress in its major project of EU integration,” the statement by the Prime Minister’s Office said.
Meantime, during their last meeting in Tirana, Albanian Prime Minister Sali Berisha opposed any border changes in the region stressing that they would have domino effects.
