FinMin Invites Citizens and Businesses to Profit from Fiscal Amnesty

The Ministry of Finances has launched an awareness-raising campaign in order to explain to the citizens and businesses the profits they will gain by the fiscal amnesty law

TIRANA All those citizens who want to legalize their money, reevaluate their property or capital and all those businesses which have undeclared immovable properties, machineries or other assets have the right to profit from the fiscal amnesty law until March 31, 2012.
The Ministry of Finances made an appeal to the citizens to profit from this law by reevaluating their property and legalizing their money. The Ministry has launched an awareness-raising campaign in order to explain to citizens and businesses the profits they will gain by this process. Those who want to legalize their money will have to pay only 3 percent of the sum. This tariff is lower than the interest rates offered by the banks. Those who want to reevaluate their property will pay only 1 percent of the value.
On the other hand, the businesses will profit from the fiscal pardoning of the unpaid tax and customs obligation till December 31, 2008. For the debts of 2009, if the businesses pay 30 percent of main principal the other part will be pardoned. For the debts of 2010, if they pay 50 percent of tax obligations principal the other part will be pardoned together with the penalties.
