Funeral Ceremony for Captain Vogli in Tirana on Friday

TIRANA – The body of the Albanian Captain Feti Vogli, who was killed on Monday in Afghanistan, will arrive in Rinas airport in the early hours of Friday. At 03:15 a short ceremony will be organized in the airport as the army staff will transport the body according to the entire army ceremonies. The body of Vogli will be transported to his home for the traditional funeral ceremonies.
Homage for the officials and public will be taking place at the Palace of Congresses starting from 11:00 hours. Another funeral ceremony will be organized by 14:00 hours at the Nation’s Martyrs Cemetery.
Good News for Corporal Peci, Recovering in American Hospital in Germany
Meantime, there is good news about the other Albanian commando Corporal Aleksander Peci, who was shot in Afghanistan. Corporal Peci, accompanied by a specialized medical team, was transported from the American Hospital at the Bagram Air Base, in north of Kabul, to Germany. He arrived in Germany by 08:45 on Friday at the U.S. Military Hospital in Landstuhl, Germany.
Corporal Peci was received by our Military Representative at NATO Headquarters in Brussels, Rear Admiral Kristaq Gerveni and our Military Representative at the ACO Command, Colonel Pirro Ahmetaj.
Corporal Peci is currently under the direct medical care of the doctors of the U.S. Military Hospital in Landstuhl, Germany.

Albanian flag was at half mast in the NATO headquarters in Brussels in honor of the Albanian Captain Feti Vogli, who lost his life while on a mission in Afghanistan. Captain Vogli is the first Albanian military personnel who was killed in Afghanistan. Albanian Commandos Vogli and Peci were on duty by patrolling and securing the intelligence personnel service and USAID members who were visiting the village of Robot to examine possibilities of opening two schools and a hospital.
The Ministry of Defense set up a committee to deal with the organization of the funeral ceremony for late Captain Vogli. The Central Commission, for granting the Status of “Martyr of the Nation”, has awarded to Captain Feti Vogli, the status Martyr of the Nation.
