Albania Strongly Condemns Violence in Syria

“This resolution, which received maximal support in the voting process, aims to achieve a democratic transformation of the society and the state system in Syria through a political process free of violence and extremisms,” the statement of the Albanian Foreign Ministry said

TIRANA – Albania has hailed the UN General Assembly resolution on Syria. A press statement by the Foreign Ministry said on Saturday that Albania ranked among those countries co-sponsoring the resolution of the UN General Assembly on Syria.
“With this resolution, the international community strongly condemns the violence which has spread in the entire Syrian territory and the increase of the victims caused by the regime of Bashar Al-Assad on the innocent Syrian people,” the statement of the Foreign Ministry said.
Albania considers that the UN General Assembly resolution urges the immediate cease of state violence against civilians, respecting of human rights and freedoms, as well as the protection of civilians.
The Albanian Foreign Ministry declared that the voting of the resolution is based on the plan proposed by the member countries of Arab League and it is aimed at the creation of an international consensus on the resolution of crisis in Syria.
