In the grand surrounds of Attlee Room in the House of Lords on November 8 an important event that celebrated and highlighted the potential of Albania’s Tourism industry was held. This unique event, which was organised by the Albanian British Chamber of Commerce and Industry, coincided with the World Travel Market in London, an annual global event of travel industry experts, investors and country exhibitors. The Albanian tourism industry had a high profile exhibit at this event, where they displayed the best the country has to offer as a holiday destination.
The event in the House of Lords, entitled “Albanian Success in Tourism” was attended by a number of high profile supporters of the Chamber, including the Chamber’s patron Lord Watson of Richmond, Mr John Grogan Honorary President, Mr Zenel Hoxha President and Chief Executive of ABCCI and Madeleine Moon, Member of Parliament and Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Albania. Also present was the Ms Milva Ekonomi Minister of Economy for Albania and Mr Ardit Collaku General Director of the National Agency of Tourism Albania
The celebration was attended by over 60 people, from both Albania and the UK, who were all passionate and interested about developing and promoting Albania as a holiday destination for curious tourists, international tour operators and investors. All attendees spoke highly about Albania’s potential as a tourist destination. Although relatively undiscovered, Albania is a country of unrivalled natural beauty, centuries of fascinating history and a rich traditional culture, all agreed that Albania has something to appeal to everyone.
This successful event inspired a number of exciting new initiatives that the will be followed up in the coming months and will ensure that the tourism potential of Albania is fully realised.
The Chamber is fortunate to have the backing of important supporters that enable them to promote the wonders of Albania as a tourist destination. A healthy stream of tourists is a positive and exciting way to feel proud of Albania as a country and to help the growth of the economy.
