The oil price in Albania marked a recent increase by Lek 5 per liter. This is the third time that retail fuel price rises this year following a decrease to nearly Lek 150 last January due to the USD 27 per barrel.
The oil market players declared that this new increase is motivated by two facts. First, the oil price per barrel increase up to USD 52 in the stock-market, and secondly the fuel re-licensing tax collecting by the City Halls.
According to them the fixed oil taxes go up to Lek 105 per liter, while the price in the international stock market went from USD 300 to USD 460, thus the price increase was inevitable.
