Energy Price Increases for Some Businesses

Energy price for a number of specific businesses in Albania will soon become subject to augmentation. The Electricity Regulatory Authority (ERA) approved an Lek 12.4 fee for the businesses consumers whose power supply is in the medium voltage (MV) level, but they pay for a low voltage power supply. Comparing the data, this fee is 12.7 percent higher than the price of energy for businesses.

One of the businessman in food processing sector, Alban Zusi said that energy prices currently occupying most of the costs of his activities. Two years ago, he said that the price of electricity was Lek 9 per kilowatt hour, while the 2015 price difference was Lek 11.

Zusi said that ERA has regularly over revenue businesses that supplied the medium voltage.
