Confindustria urges the
Albanian Executive to show maturity during the decision-making process for Carpen Harbor
construction. According to Confindustria the entire process should be open to
the public opinion.
“On view of numerous
problematic episodes for the public interest, during the private-public
partnership process, costs and economic benefits evaluation must be based on
logic and not be a hurried decision. The decision to give by concession a land
surface of over 1700 acres for the tourism development to a “shellfish”
company, without a clear definition of the original owners cast a shadow of
doubt on this process” underlined Confindustria.
experts stressed the necessity for a detailed explanation of the fact that a
company with a financial capital of only Euro 100 may be given a concession that
requires a Euro 5 billion investment.
