A fund of Euro 620.000 will be given by the European Union for a detailed intervention in the Apollonia Archeological Park. This fund is part of a joint initiative between the Council of Europe and the European Commission aiming to support the restoration of the historical heritage as a generator of the social-economic capital, and a promoter of the cultural tourism that would increase the area inhabitants incomes.
Restoration project will include the monastery, the statues portico, the church, the museum and many other elements. This project presentation was attended by the EU ambassador in Tirana Romana Vlahutin, and the Minister of Culture, Mirela Kumbaro. The restoration project has been approved by the National Council for Restoration and Archeology.
