The People’s Republic of China has given Albanian government a grant with a total value of 10 million Yuan to be used for agricultural machineries and other objects to assist Albania.
The agreement on “Allocation of economic and technical grant” between the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Albania and the Government of People's Republic of China was signed on Monday at the premises of the Council of Ministers, in the presence of Albanian Deputy Prime Minister Niko Peleshi and Deputy Prime Minister of China, Mr. Yang Jing.
On the behalf of Albanian government, the agreement was signed by Deputy Minister of Economic Development, Tourism, Trade and Entrepreneurship Ervin Mete and on behalf of the Chinese government the agreement was signed by Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Albania Jiang Yu.
Mr. Peleshi thanked the Chinese government for 10 million RMB grant for agricultural machinery considering this support as another concrete step by the Chinese side for its assistance towards modernization of the agricultural sector in our country.
Mr. Peleshi also informed the Chinese side that the Albanian Government has submitted draft agreement for visa facilitation for the category of tourists and businessmen from both countries, which will serve as a significant increase in the number of Chinese tourists and investors in Albania.
During the meeting with the Chinese delegation, chaired by the State Councilor Yang Jing, the two parties reconfirmed the political will to reach finalization of Arber Road, the increase of the economic and trade cooperation, cooperation in the field of investments, agriculture, education, culture, etc.
High level meetings have reaffirmed the importance that our governments have paid to the cooperation and readiness for strengthening and developing bilateral friendship and cooperation in all areas of the economy.
Albanian Government appreciated the current cooperation with the Chinese government and expressed gratitude for its contribution to the financing of projects in various sectors of the economy and for providing technical assistance for capacity building of technical experts and officials of the Albanian administration.
The initiative proposed by the Chinese government, "On cooperation between China and the countries of Central and Eastern Europe 16 + 1" is another important instrument that is enriching our cooperation.
Economic exchanges in recent years between the two countries have increased to a complete legal framework that fully supports the economic and trade cooperation and investment protection. Recently there is a growing interest from Chinese companies to invest in Albania in fields of energy, tourism, agriculture, etc.
