The Albanian Culture Center in Turin organized a meeting between the Albanian community in this city and the mayor Piero Fasino, at the same time the left wing coalition candidate in the June 5 local elections. A large number of Albanian citizens that have already obtained the Italian nationality, thus have the right to elect and be elected, attended this meeting.

Turin is among most active European cities for what concerns the cooperation with Albania, thanks to a number of initiatives undertaken by the Albanian community and Culture Center.

During a short speech Mayor Fasino recalled some of the numerous successful cultural, social and economic collaborations between this city and Albania while expressing his readiness to continue in this direction. This meeting is a clear indicator of the Albanians involvement in the country’s political life and the higher level of interest by the Italian political class toward this new electorate.
