The Swedish Project, Strengthening Community Policing in Albania (SCPA), during a ceremony on Tuesday, donated to Tirana's Police 10 bicycles within the framework of strengthening the safety in the community.
In this event, were present many officials such as the Local Police Director, Kastriot Skenderaj, Director of Public Order and Safety, Albert Dervishaj, and the Sweden's Deputy Ambassador, Birgitta Jansson, where she appreciated the hospitality and invitation to this ceremony.
"Thanks for the hospitality and the invitation as this is the second phase of the community policing strengthening project, and we still have a lot of work to do. We see that the project we are financing is within the framework of an even larger strategy, that of Interior Ministry. I am glad that this grant is being developed to facilitate the use of bicycles. I wish you success in this project to increase the road safety," said the Deputy Ambassador.
Meanwhile, Skenderaj praised the donation of bicycles to the employees of the Urban Areas Police, which will bring assistance and improvement in their work.
"We are working for a long time now with our Swedish project colleagues. We have done a lot of work and projects together that do not matter to the value of donation but in the good cooperation and partnership with the SCPA Foundation and the Swedish Embassy," said the Local Police Director.
