Bushati in France to Require Support for Accession Talks

Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ditmir Bushati, started on Saturday an official visit to France, during which he is expected to hold meetings focusing on European integration and strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.
His first meeting was developed with the French counterpart, Nathalie Loiseau, where were discussed issues of European integration, intensification of bilateral relations, deepening of economic cooperation, and the role of France facing the EU challenges.
Minister Bushati acquainted the French Minister with Albania's expectations for the Council to be held in June and stressed that the decision to open negotiations would be a further boost to the implementation of the reforms undertaken, including justice reform. He also praised France's support in the European integration process and the provided assistance.
In the other hand, Minister Loiseau said that France follows closely the developments in Albania and the Region, as well as assesses the progress made by the Albanian government regarding the 5 key priorities.
During his visit to France, Minister Bushati will also hold meetings with the Chairwoman of the Foreign Policy Committee at the Parliamentary Assembly, Marielle de Sarnez, as well as senior officials near President Macron and the Prime Minister of the French Republic.
