NFA Blocks 130 Tons of Contaminated Imported Meat

National Food Authority (NFA) has acted once again in terms of food safety control on the import of any animal products cargo in Albania.
This institution has identified on Thursday in Durresi Harbor two loads of imported meat from Brazil with the amount of 53 tons, which resulted infected with salmonella.
Beside this, during 2018, NFA has identified and returned back 78 tons of meat within the controls of each meat load imported from Brazil.
NFA and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) are investigating the origins of these containers in order to guarantee the complete safety of imported products circulating in the Albanian market.
