Mammography Service for the First Time in Gjirokastra

The mammography service for early diagnosis of breast cancer for women is being offered for the first time at the regional hospital in Gjirokastra.
The news was made public by the Minister of Health and Social Protection Ogerta Manastirliu, who saw closely the investments at the Gjirokastra hospital, equipped with new biomedical high tech equipment.
"With the modern mammography equipment, the first diagnosis of breast cancer for women is offered for the first time, not only in Gjirokastra but in the entire southern area. Our goal is to provide quality service near the residence, so we are investing EUR 4.5 million in modern high-tech equipments, in regional hospitals from north to south of the country, "said Manastirliu.
The Ministry of Health and Social Protection is also applying a bonus program where specialized doctors are being hired against the government's available bonus of up to ALL 2.5 million on salaries, in hospitals that have a lack of specialists.
